CIBUTEX – “circularity for business textiles” – was founded in February 2022 by Blycolin, Dibella, Edelweiss, Lamme and Nedlin. Through the cooperation of these five companies, strengths and knowledge are bundled.

Textile service companies, formally in competition, have found common ground and common interest in the textile waste management. Because we believe that together we can make a difference and make the textile supply chain more sustainable.

True to our motto: Circularity through cooperation

WHAT DO WE DO

CIBUTEX works closely with upcyclers who need larger quantities of B2B post consumer waste/resource textiles for their upcycling process. The textiles required by the upcyclers must be white and made of 100% cotton or blends of maximum 50% polyester.

We bundle our large quantities of B2B post consumer textiles and sell them to upcyclers who give them a new life. The money we make from this is passed on to our members on a pro-rata basis and also invested in research and development.

Our goal is to send at least 400 tonnes of B2B post consumer waste textiles to our upcyclers in the second year, bringing the textiles back into the textile supply chain. In doing so, we not only want to reduce waste, but also achieve water and CO2 savings. It is our ambition to take responsibility and support textile recycling to the next level.

Our work aims to contribute to the achievement of the following United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs):

SDG 9 industry, innovation and infrastructure
SDG 12 responsible consumption and production
SDG 13 climate action
SDG 17 partnerships for the goals

OUR VISION: TEXTILE TO TEXTILE

We are working on a future in which used textiles are upcycled into new textiles. To achieve this, we would like to participate in the research and development of new upcycling technologies and aim for closed loop solutions.
